1. What is the major difference between EZ2Map and ZK's other post processing product CellMap?
A. EZ2Map is a very simple to use all-in-one product that incorporates log file processing and mapping (Microsoft's MapPoint). CellMap does log file processing and is an add-in to MapInfo. MapPoint provides street level data for all of North American but has limitations on advanced mapping features. MapInfo is the mapping program of choice for mapping professionals, but you must purchase maps separately and the program is not very user friendly.

2. Will EZ2Map work with older ZK Celltest log files?
A. Yes, logs from DXM and DX series work fine.

3. Does EZ2Map incorporate street maps of my state?
A. Yes, all cities and streets in North America including Canada.

4. How much disk base do I need to run EZ2Map on my computer and what about operating systems?
A. For a complete installation, you need 1 G of available disk space. You can select to load only the programs which requires about 500 M and put disk 2 (Run Disk) in your CD drive when you run EZ2Map. EZ2Map requires Windows 2000 or later, it will not work with Windows 98.

5. Can I use the GPS output from my DXMe of ZKSAM with EZ2Map while I am driving?
A. No. The GPS coordinates are stored in the log files and must be processed before mapping, also the ZKSAM does not provide a serial output.

6. How many log files can be processed at once?
A. On version 1.1.0, the maximum number is 52 log files. The limit is due to the size of the buffer that holds the selected log file names. On version 1.1.1, the limit is 400+. A work around for either version is to rename the log files to a shorter name. A standard log file name contains 28 characters, reducing the name to 4 characters will allow 7 times more log files to be processed.

7. Can I have different icons for different types of cell sites on my default cell site map?
A. Yes. Follow the directions for creating a default cell site map provided with EZ2Map and instead of creating one Excel spreadsheet for you cell sites, create one spreadsheet for each type of cell site. When you import the data into MapPoint as a Pushpin map, you will be able to select a different icon for each spread sheet. You can also create your own icons with many commercially available icon makers.

8. When I try an import additional data into an existing map, I do not see any of the New Message files?
A. From the dialog box that opens when you click on the Import Data Wizard under the Data Menu, select the C:\Program Files\EZ2Map\New Messages folder and change the files of type to .txt. MapPoint always remembers the location of the last folder selected, therefore the next time you use the Import Data Wizard, you will see the files in the New Message folder.

9. Streets and Trips looks very similar to MapPoint. Are they the same program?
A. Yes and No. MapPoint is the parent of Streets and Trips. Most of the user interface features are the same, but Streets and Trips is very limited for displaying data and it cannot be used programmability.

10. How often is MapPoint updated and will I have to purchase a new EZ2Map license to use the updated maps?
A. In the past, MapPoint has been updated every 2 to 4 years. When MapPoint is updated again, you will not have to purchase a new EZ2Map license, but you will need to purchase the MapPoint upgrade. The 2004 MapPoint upgrade retailed for $99.

11. Do I need to purchase an EZ2Map license for each computer the software will be used on?
A. Yes, but volume discounts are available.
