bugfix (Data Testing) 8.6G is the same as 8.6F except it fixes a crash that rarely occurs during data testing. Typically this crash is only seen if running multiple phones with data testing enabled for many hours.
enhancement Adds support for GPRS/EDGE data testing. Includes real-time display, logging and configuration. Requires optional GPRS_EDGE software feature enabled and special "NTM" flashed 6230 phones.
enhancement Several enhancements to logging. Log format version changed to 6.11. Major changes: Adds session number, sequence number and FILE/REALTIME label to @START line and last file indicator to @END line. Enhancements to Data Testing log messages (DTS & DTL) to support GRPS/EDGE data testing. Change normal termination code in DTS (Data Testing Status) log message from "T" to "TU" or "TD" to differentiate between upload and download termination. New dial failure data-link states in DTS message: NC,NA and B.
bugfix Nokia 6230: Fixed minor bug where sometimes the Nokia 6230 did not terminate calls upon exiting SAM-ALL.
bugfix Nokia 6230: AMR and TCH rate are now displayed on zoom line.
enhancement Nokia 6230: TCH rate and AMR reporting (display and logging) is now more reliable. Both TCH rate and AMR rate are displayed on screen as well as logged.
enhancement (Data Testing) DTL (Data Testing Link) log message and GPRS/EDGE data testing screen updated to report "NO CARRIER", "NO ANSWER" and "BUSY" status from phone in response to dial command. Previously these dial failures were reported as "unknown" failures.
enhancement Add GSM timeslot on Phone Summary screen.
note Default/ZK data testing server IP address changed to match ZK's new server at 71.136.207.65 (old server 66.47.68.197 no longer exists). To use ZK's server use the Data Testing Setup -> Default Setup… menu option to update your settings to point to the new server.
bugfixt (Data Testing) Fixed bug where average throughput value was reported incorrectly for transfers over 4MBytes.
enhancement (Data Testing) Changed HTTP download test so that a receive time-out is a fixed 45 seconds instead of a highly variable (and typically much longer) time-out based on vaguaries of the TCP/IP networking software. In this way a failed HTTP download will terminate faster and more predictably and get to the next test.
bugfix Fixed a bug where the software might fail or behave unpredictably in SAM-ALL mode if very long cellsite names were imported. The bug would only manifest if the cellsite name length + sector id length was greater than 19.
bugfix (GSM) Fixed a bug where sometimes a dropped call would not be detected when using a 6190 or 6340i when the dropped call was caused by entering a no coverage area.
note Compact flash card capacity requirement increased with this release. With 5 phones enabled, a 64MB CF is insufficient and SAM-ALL mode will not run. Use at least 256MB with 5 phones to avoid losing log files.
note Over-the-Air/Layer3 (MC and MG) messages are no longer in realtime serial output. This information is still saved in the log files and displayed on screen.
known issue Nokia 6230: The phone occasionally locks up during GPRS/EDGE data testing. This is a bug in the Nokia 6230 firmware that Nokia is working on. The workaround is to manually power cycle the 6230 during GPRS/EDGE data testing when the ZK-SAM/DXMe reports "No Carrier" or "No Response" on the GPRS/EDGE data testing screen. Upon first starting SAM-ALL, the 6230 sometimes reports "No Carrier" or "No Response" for the first 1-3 call attempts and then connects. In this situation, wait for at least 4 failures before power cycling the phone.
known issue Nokia 6230: Hopping channel list and hopping channel count are not logged.
